We hope you never have to use these tools, but we want to ensure you have them
if you need them!
At MKG, we have designed our classes to teach you efficient self-defense techniques in a fun and engaging manner.
Our MKG Blend program and Thai Boxing should be your first classes to try out if learning self-defense is your ultimate goal. Both programs offer precious lessons in self-defense, and we view these two classes as the foundation on which you’ll build everything else.
The basic steps to learning martial arts for self-defense are:
1) Learn good body mechanics (Eye – Body Coordination)
2) Learn to generate power
3) Learn dirty tricks and tools that only apply when protecting yourself
4) Keep training
While MKG Blend and Thai Boxing set the foundation for your self-defense journey (Good body coordination and the ability to generate power). The JKD, Panantukan, and Silat programs provide a more combative approach to self-defense and a more technical breakdown of the human body.
At MKG, we have a saying, “Physical skills are perishable skills”; Meaning that if you stop training, the tools and tricks you learned will start to fade. So, with continuous practice, you’ll keep getting better, stay in better shape, and meet cool people while you do it!
